The very Hungry Caterpillar

Once upon a time, in a meadow full of fluttering butterflies and blooming flowers, there lived a tiny caterpillar named Charlie. He had soft green stripes and was curious about the big, bright world around him.

One sunny morning, Charlie yawned and stretched his little body. “Today, I’m going on a journey,” he said. “I’ll explore, eat, and grow strong!” And so, Charlie began his grand adventure.

Monday

Charlie found one red strawberry lying under a shady bush. “What a yummy breakfast!” he said. He nibbled the strawberry until it was all gone.

Tuesday

Charlie discovered two bright oranges hanging from a tree. “I love oranges!” he said as he crunched through their juicy sweetness.

Wednesday

Charlie crawled into a vegetable patch and saw three purple plums. “These will make me big and strong!” he said, chomping one by one.

Thursday

Near the pond, Charlie spotted four crisp green leaves. “Perfect for a snack!” he said, munching happily.

Friday

Charlie wandered into a garden where he found five yellow bananas. “I’ve never tried these before!” he said, peeling and gobbling them up.

Saturday

Charlie woke up feeling extra hungry. He ate one apple, two carrots, three blueberries, four peas, and five cherries! “That was so much food!” Charlie groaned, rubbing his full tummy.

Sunday

By Sunday, Charlie felt different. “I think it’s time to rest,” he said. He wiggled to a tall tree and spun himself into a cozy cocoon. Inside, he felt warm and safe.

The Big Surprise

Days turned into weeks, and Charlie stayed snug inside his cocoon. One morning, he felt a strange fluttering in his body. Crack! The cocoon opened, and Charlie stretched his wings—his bright, beautiful butterfly wings! They sparkled with every color of the rainbow.

“Wow!” Charlie said, flapping his wings. “I’ve grown up into a butterfly!” He flew high into the sky, meeting other butterflies and showing off his colorful wings.

From that day on, Charlie soared through the meadow, teaching all the little caterpillars about counting, patience, and the magic of transformation.
